If you use orthokeratology lenses, it’s essential to keep them clean and free from protein buildup.

What is Menicon Progent? Menicon Progent is a powerful fortnightly cleaner for rigid gas permeable (GP) contact lenses, including your orthokeratology lenses. It removes protein buildup and disinfects your ortho-k lenses, ensuring they stay comfortable and clean.

Why Use Menicon Progent? Regular use of Menicon Progent helps keep your Ortho-k lenses comfortable and extends their life. It is recommended to use it every two weeks.

How Does it Work? Menicon Progent works by soaking your Ortho-k lenses in a special mixture for just 30 minutes. This mixture removes proteins and thoroughly disinfects your Ortho-k lenses, killing bacteria, mold, yeast, viruses, and other organisms.

What’s in Menicon Progent? Menicon Progent consists of two parts: Progent A (sodium hypochlorite) and Progent B (potassium bromide). When mixed, these components create a reaction that cleans and disinfects your Ortho-k lenses.

How to Clean Your Orthokeratology Lenses Using Menicon Progent

  1. Wash and Rinse Hands: Before handling your Ortho-k lenses, wash and rinse your hands thoroughly.
  2. Place Lenses in Holder: Put your Ortho-k lenses in the Left (L) or Right (R) holder in the top of the Progent vial.
  3. Add Progent A and Progent B Solution: Open a single dose each of Menicon Progent A and Progent B by gently twisting the cap. Pour Menicon Progent A, then Menicon Progent B into the vial.  Discard the empty progent containers.
  4. Mix Solutions: Tightly close the cap of the Progent Vial and shake gently several times. Allow the Ortho-k lenses to soak in the Progent mixture for 30 minutes. Do not soak the Ortho-k lenses for longer than 30 minutes.
  5. Rinse Lenses: Remove the Progent vial cap while keeping the Ortho-k lenses in their holders. Rinse the Ortho-k lenses in the holders with saline solution. They are now ready to be stored in the storage case.
  6. Discard the Progent Mixture: Pour the Progent mixture into the sink with running tap water. Rinse the vial and lens holder cap with saline solution and let them air dry in a clean space.
